1930s Cauët Luxuor RC Style Brass Semi-Automatic Petrol Lighter – Working

A fantastic early French petrol pocket lighter believed to be a Cauët Luxuor RC, dating from approximately the 1930s.

Cauët was a Paris-based lighter manufacturer established in 1910, with Luxuor being one of its recognised brands. The Luxuor RC range consisted of semi-automatic pocket lighters and used a design closely associated with the German Karl Wieden/KW mechanism.

This example has a lovely aged brass finish and retains its removable outer sleeve, internal fuel reservoir/wadding and semi-automatic ignition mechanism.

  • 🔥 Tested and working
  • 🇫🇷 Believed to be Cauët / Luxuor RC – France
  • 📅 Approximately 1930s
  • ⚙️ Semi-automatic petrol/fluid lighter mechanism
  • 🟡 Brass outer casing
  • 🔎 Marked PAT. No. 470739 with circular L emblem
  • 🧩 Removable outer brass sleeve
  • 🕰️ Approximately 90 years old
  • ✨ Excellent collector/display piece with genuine age-related patina

Condition: Pre-owned antique condition and fully working. The brass casing shows surface marks, scratches, tarnishing, discolouration and general wear consistent with its considerable age. The original aged patina has been retained and the lighter has not been polished. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.

The identification as Cauët Luxuor RC is based on the construction, mechanism and comparison with documented period examples; the lighter itself does not appear to carry a complete visible “Luxuor” name stamp.

Please note: The lighter will be supplied empty of fuel for safe shipping.
